TurboTax: Persecuting minority web-browsers???
So, I was browsing digg.com, trying to find something to send me to sleep, and I came across an article about TurboTax charging safari users more? What better way to send me to sleep than read about a tax website?
I browse on over, and see the weird observation by a flickr user that when they open the turbotax site in safari and firefox, side-by-side, that it comes up with differing prices. WEIRD!
Anyways, I decided to investigate myself. I opened IE and Firefox, both appeared the same ‘cheap’ price…. I opened opera, and lo-and-behold, it comes up with the more expensive price?
At first I thought this was just one of those trial different pricing schemes like amazon was supposed to be running a few years back… But YES – it does appear to be targetting specific web browsers?! Weird eh?
UPDATE: Here’s another posted by a digg user (shows four browsers, 3 diff prices)
Either way it looks like turbotax are being naughty with their prices.
